Discernment in Babylon: Read Inward, Respect Another Person’s Freedom
Babylon’s inward-reading boundary is direct: never use tarot to read another person’s energy. A card, letter or symbolic pattern can help you reflect on your own observations and choices. It does not establish another person’s private state, even when they ask you to supply that interpretation.

Begin with what you actually know
An exchange gives you observations, feelings and interpretations. Keep them distinguishable. You may know what was said, what you agreed to do and how you felt afterward. You may have an explanation for why it happened. That explanation remains an interpretation unless the other person has supplied the account themselves. Discernment becomes more useful when uncertainty stays visible. You can make a boundary or request a change without filling the unknown space with a confident story about someone else.
An image can return the question to your participation
A letter lesson or card image can prompt a question about your own speech, expectation or available action. What do you want to say clearly? What promise can you actually keep? What response remains within your control? This is a different task from declaring what another person feels. Babylon’s inward practice keeps the image with the learner’s own reflection. A shared exercise can let each person describe their own response without appointing someone to speak for the other’s inner world.
A spiritual explanation should increase freedom
Pressure can enter a reading when a person is told that refusing the explanation proves its truth, or that leaving the exercise will block their growth. Babylon’s learning principle rejects that capture. A learner can disagree, stop or choose a different practice. Care also does not require a survivor to accept a proposed root cause before receiving help. A trustworthy explanation leaves room for the person’s own account and for the possibility that the framework needs to change.
Bring the learning into a day.
Choose one situation and write three sentences: what I observed, what I am assuming and what I can freely choose next. If you use a symbolic image, let it open a question about the third sentence. Keep another person’s feelings and intentions available for them to describe. You do not need an energy reading to make a clear request, protect a boundary or choose support.
Questions about this teaching
Is reading another person’s energy acceptable if they consent?
Babylon’s boundary remains inward: each person reflects on their own response. Permission does not turn a card into evidence of another person’s private state.
Can intuition give me certainty about another mind?
An impression can be something you notice. It still needs to remain distinct from the other person’s own account and from what was actually observed.
