Revelation 22: The river, the Tree of Life and the invitation

A river flows from the throne of God and the Lamb. The Tree of Life bears fruit, and its leaves are associated with the nations’ healing. The closing exchanges identify speakers, repeat the expectation of coming soon, direct worship to God, and invite the thirsty to receive living water.

What happens in this chapter

A river flows from the throne of God and the Lamb. The Tree of Life bears fruit, and its leaves are associated with the nations’ healing. The closing exchanges identify speakers, repeat the expectation of coming soon, direct worship to God, and invite the thirsty to receive living water.

PassageReading sequence
22:1–5River, tree and divine light
22:6–16Messages, worship and testimony
22:17–21Invitation, warnings and closing prayer

A distinction to keep

The tree’s fruit and the leaves have distinct stated functions. Compare Ezekiel 47:12, then record differences. Do not use the healing image as a medical treatment promise or as a way to blame suffering people.

Read, then explain

Open the named chapter below. Choose one scene and write down its speaker, action and image. Give the verse reference for each observation. A paraphrase should make the passage easier to find, while leaving a reader free to question the explanation.

Babylon’s devotional practice

How could a lesson end with a freely chosen invitation to learn and receive care? In Babylon, a lesson rolls forward toward understanding and a freely chosen next step. The Father and Yeshua remain the devotional centre; no exercise makes your worth conditional on solving the text. This practice is our application, separate from the chapter summary.
