How do Major and Minor Arcana do different jobs in Babylon?
Major images identify the letter paths; numbered Minor cards express a station through four Worlds.
Understand the idea
The Major Arcana belongs to the path layer in the learning map. The twenty-two images connect with twenty-two letter pathways. The numbered Minor layer works differently: each station number appears across Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles. The number identifies the station address, while the suit identifies the World or lens. At Station 3, the four Threes can be considered together through will, feeling, thought, and material expression. The four cards do not create four additional Tree stations. This method also differs from drawing a random card and interpreting it in a spread. It uses a fixed address to organize a reading. Always name the method before interpreting so a reader knows whether an image is identifying a path, a numbered lens, or a separate card practice.
An example to work with
Compare Path 13, The High Priestess, with Station 3 and the four Threes. Their shared number-like appearance should not cause you to merge the path and station addresses. Explain what each number is labeling.
Is this card identifying a path or a station-and-World address?
