Mem · water and a changed perspective
Mem is a Mother letter associated with Water; its Babylon path image is The Hanged Man.
Understand the idea
Mem offers a language of immersion and a change of position. In Babylon’s Path 23 teaching, it connects Gevurah and Hod: a pause in an immediate response can make another account visible. Water is the elemental correspondence; The Hanged Man is the card image; Path 23 is the corridor. Keep each label clear. A pause becomes useful when the learner can name what it revealed and decide how to return to the task.
An example to work with
Before rewriting a confusing explanation, describe what a beginner knows at the point where it begins. Identify one assumption you made, revise that part, and ask whether the new version helps.
What becomes visible when you change the position from which you are looking?
Part of Babylon’s authored teaching framework. Symbolic correspondences offer a language for reflection and learning.
