QUESTION GUIDE

How do I separate astronomy, calculation, and symbolic meaning?

Keep the measured position, the chosen mapping rule, and the interpretation in separate sentences.

Understand the idea

A measured sky record states where a body appears under a named reference frame and at a specified time. A mathematical map applies an explicit rule to that record, such as dividing a forward arc into equal station bands. A symbolic reading assigns a teaching meaning to the result. All three can appear together, but each supports a different kind of claim. An accurate longitude does not scientifically establish an interpretation about a person’s feelings or future. Conversely, a meaningful reflection cannot stand in for a missing position calculation. Record the data and rule first, then offer an interpretation as an interpretation. This makes a reading easier to reproduce, discuss, and revise. It also allows someone to appreciate the symbolic teaching while checking the astronomy independently.

MAKE IT PRACTICAL

An example to work with

Use a hypothetical forward Sun–Moon arc of 80°. First name the assumed measurement. Next show that 80 divided by 36 selects Station 3 under Babylon’s rule. Finally offer a FORM question. Keep the arithmetic and reflection visibly separate.
