Revelation symbols: a passage index

Twelve image groups with exact chapter doorways: find a symbol without losing its scene.

Lampstands and stars

1:12–20; 2–3 · The first chapter supplies explanations: lampstands represent assemblies, stars their angels. Preserve that local explanation.

Throne and worship

4–5; 7:9–17; 22:1–5 · Track who is on the throne, who approaches and where praise is directed. A throne image also appears in the beast’s authority scenes.

Lamb and lion

5:5–6; 7:17; 14:1 · The lion is announced and the Lamb is seen. Compare those descriptions before flattening them into one visual scene.

Seven seals

5:1; 6:1–17; 8:1 · Six seals are opened in chapter 6; chapter 7 intervenes; the seventh opens in 8:1.

Seven trumpets

8:2–13; 9; 11:15 · Four begin in chapter 8, two more follow in chapter 9, and the seventh sounds after an interlude.

Seven bowls

15:7; 16:1–21 · The seven plague bowls are introduced in chapter 15 and poured in chapter 16. Do not confuse them with the prayer bowls of 5:8.

The woman and dragon

12:1–17 · Read the birth, refuge and pursuit in sequence. Do not use the image to identify a contemporary woman or nation as a supernatural character.

Two beasts and the mark

13:1–18; 19:20 · Distinguish sea beast from earth beast and the different acts of authority, deception and enforcement.

Babylon and its waters

17:1–18; 18 · The interpreting angel connects waters with peoples and languages. Historical identification and devotional application remain separate arguments.

Wedding and bride

19:7–9; 21:2,9–10 · The city is shown as bride in chapter 21. This literary image does not create a romantic obligation between living people.

Thousand years and books

20:1–15 · Separate the reign, later conflict, opened books and book of life. A period in a vision is not a dated modern countdown.

River and Tree of Life

22:1–5,17 · Water flows from the throne; fruit and leaves have distinct functions. The final invitation offers water freely.
